Meet the team

We have an amazing team at Little Business Library! Mental health is of the utmost importance to us. In an effort to foster an environment that values the mental health of its team, LBL encourages each team member to take 10 hours each week (not including sleeping hours) to care for their mental health.  Team members are not expected to respond to work-related matters during their mental health hours. Mental health hours are listed below and in each team member’s email signature.

Tuesday: 9AM – 12PM CST

Julia Davis


Hi there! I’m Julia and I’m the creator of Little Business Library! I was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, AL and after graduating high school, I attended the University of Montevallo where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies with a minor in Public Relations. During my time at Montevallo, I had the opportunity to serve as a university ambassador, a tour guide, and a Junior Admissions Counselor (go falcons). I was also heavily involved with my Greek organization, Delta Gamma, where I served as a director, vice president, president, and national board member. I’m currently pursuing a Master’s in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Alabama where I also serve as a director for the Public Relations Council of Alabama. On any given day, you can usually find me talking to my pets with that super annoying pet voice (can’t help it, it just happens), working on the library, and sipping on Milo’s sweet tea (red lid my friends). As a small business owner myself, I love shopping from small businesses and connecting with other small business owners! Every day, I am amazed at the ingenuity and drive of small business owners and I feel so fortunate to have this outlet and opportunity to connect with such incredible people!

Melissa Harney


Hi friends! I’m Melissa and I’ve had a passion for small business and entrepreneurship for as long as I can remember. I can pretty confidently say that if lemonade stands were a thing in small town New Zealand where I was born and raised, I would have definitely been that kid out on the footpath every weekend. I’ve dipped my toe into a whole bunch of ventures since graduating university – from family photography to small business consulting, web design and educational content creation, before landing my most challenging job yet; raising a toddler who seems to have inherited my strong will! Unpopular opinions include: apple pie > pumpkin pie, there is no such thing as too much color, and iced coffee tastes best on a freezing day.

Paige Furlan


Hi Everyone! My name is Paige and I am joining the Little Business Library from the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and  Tsleil-Wautuh peoples (Vancouver, BC). I am overjoyed to be working with the Little Business Library especially as the resident Canadian, and I look forward to bringing my perspective and experience from up north to the team. Working alongside organizations and businesses over the past 4 years, I have cultivated and refined marketing and media strategies resulting in heightened responses from their target audiences. Having earned my Bachelors in Philosophy and Creative Writing along with a certificate Full Stack Web Development, I have been able to utilize my knowledge in these fields as I work with businesses and organizations to implement ethical marketing and media strategies. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my 6-year-old Frenchton Arthur, and embracing my inner foodie around town.
